The pottery is from The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle. I think it looks great with the black Nelson bench. I love the texture it gives to the house. Now we have a space above the shelf for a painting, print or wall hanging. Hmm...

ReplyDeleteI meant to thank you for asking the question about how the Mystic River in CT got it's name. I kept wondering that while we were touring, and it was good to be reminded that other people would want to know. I finally updated the post to say that it comes from an Algonquin word "missituk" which means large tidal river. (For once, it's a place name that the early settlers named after something not in England!)

Thanks Sue, that's really interesting. I guess that must be the origins of the Mississippi river too.
